Dear Partner,

As you may know we are upgrading our facilities at the Azul Fives Hotel

The next stage of our upgrade process is the addition of 60 suites in the Essence section, this began in April 2015 and will take approximately 4 months, finishing in early August 2015.

The renovations do not impede existing guest amenities in the Jacuzzi section, the existing part of the Azul Fives however we will be closing the poolside grill located in the Essence section and also the swimming pool connected to this eatery.  The hotel is operating as normal with all other facilities open. We will be opening the Brasserie for lunch to replace the poolside grill and guests can still enjoy the other 4 swimming pools within the resort.  We can assure you all guests will be treated with the same superior service and attention to detail that we are so renowned for.   

Like all other stages, we do not anticipate that this stage of our renovations will affect the holiday enjoyment of our mutual customers however please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or queries. In addition I would like to invite you for a site inspection where we can share more details of this upgrade.

We can assure an incredible new resort experience is in the making.

For Atlantis Beach Tower, Coral Towers, Royal Towers, The Reef Atlantis & The Cove Atlantis: 

NEW Resort Fee (replaces the original Utility Service Fee)

Resort fee amount: $48.38 per room per night

Resort fee includes:

§  Wi-Fi in guest rooms and lobby areas for up to 4 devices per room

§  Access to the Fitness Center: Up to 2 persons per day per room

§  Fitness center access entitles guests to complimentary use of the cardio studio, universal and free weights only. Tennis, fitness classes and personal training sessions are not included.

§  Two (2) 12 oz. bottles of water daily per room

§  In-Room Coffee and Tea

§  Unlimited local phone calls

§  Access to the Atlantis Movie Theatre

§  Casino Lessons

§  Resort shuttle service

**Previously advised was an additional inclusion in the resort fee of a 20% discount at the Atlantis signature retail stores – effective May 1 this is no longer included, any existing bookings that had this inclusion on their documentation will be honored**

With this new resort fee, overall the rates in Calypso for Beach/Coral/Royal/Reef/Cove now include the following fees:

VAT & Levies: total 18.25%

Resort fee: $48.38 per room per night

Mandatory gratuities: vary by room category and are per person per night

The resort fee DOES NOT apply to Harborside Resort, therefore the rates at Harborside include the following fees:

VAT & Levies: total 18.25%

Utility service fee: $17.15 per person per night age 12 or older

Mandatory gratuities: $4.75 per person per night  

There have also been changes with rates at Atlantis due to an introduction of a VAT (Value Added Tax) in the Bahamas recently so we encourage you to continue to reach out to us if you need to confirm taxes or meal plan rates as you have in the past.

H/AUA/The Mill Resort & Suites

Caribbean - Aruba

The Mill Resort & Suites Aruba will start Pool Deck Renovations on May 5th, with an estimated completion date of June 23, 2015

The hotel will keep one of the 2 pools open at a time. The project will be done in two phases. The first phase, which will include the completion of the smaller pool area: May 5 - May 22, 2015. The second phase of the project will include the main pool and the kiddie pool areas: May 26 - June 23, 2015. 

Although it is the goal to minimize the impact for guests, there will be 3 to 4 days of heavy drilling taking place during the first week of the start-up date for each phase. The hotel will close the areas under construction completely, to allow the use of the other facilities without any major interruption. The construction management team is diligently working to minimize inconveniences as we work hard to maintain these reopening schedules.

H/MBJ/Sunset Beach Resort & H/MBJ/Oasis at Sunset

Caribbean - Jamaica - Montego Bay

Please be advised that it was announced in the trade that Sunset Beach Resort Spa & Waterpark and The Oasis at Sunset have entered into a management agreement with AM Resorts. The AMR management team will take over operations and marketing of the resorts effective August 1, 2015, with the resorts continuing under the Sunset Brand names. The property will be officially be rebranded to Sunscape Montego Bay on December 23, 2015.      

As far as Sunset Beach Resort & The Oasis at Sunset goes, Calypso has also been updated under important information, we have closed out the inventory, & pulled out the rates for travel 12/20/15 onward to prevent any new reservations from being taken.

Caribbean Product will be meeting with the AMR team at DATE (Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange) next week and will be able to provide more details following the meeting. As of right now, it’s business as usual until otherwise notified – they will be sure to advise if/when any additional information is released.

Please note The Westin Resort Los Cabos (H/SJD/WES) is extending its closure due to renovations. This hotel will be opening on 01MAR16. All active products are on A/N until inventory is updated.

PER SUPPLIER:

The Westin Resort & Spa Los Cabos  had estimated a re-opening date of September 30th with partial inventory; however due to changes in the original restoration project and  delivery dates of supplies and equipment, the  Resort will reopen its doors totally renovated on March 1st 2016.  Enclosed you will find official statement Just released by our GM today.

We understand that the new reopening date will affect the travel plans of future guests who have booked accommodations prior to the opening date. Starwood will assist any guests currently booked at the Westin Resort & Spa, Los Cabos whom would like to change or cancel their existing reservations, by waiving all associated fees that may incur for arrivals until February 29, 2016.

We kindly ask you to close hotel any availability and inventory until February 29, 2016.

Email from Occidental Grand Xcaret management:

By this letter we inform you that on Sunday April the 5th at approximately 6:08 am an outbreak of fire was raised at the Snack Bar Restaurant. After 45 minutes it was completely in control by our hotel brigades and the local fire department.
It is important to bring to your attention that none of our guests nor employees were injured and that the evacuation of the 3 nearest buildings was done merely as a precautionary measure.
The snack service is being offered at the Beach Club restaurant with the same schedule as it has been offered, from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm. The kids club will resume regular operations starting on Thursday April the 9th.
We will take the opportunity to design a new project for the area; therefore we estimate that the snack bar will resume operations in approximately 30 days.
